2012 Preppy Wine Tour

Wine Tour small2

10/28/2012 @ Seneca Lake

At the beginning of this fall, the executive board and I sat down and started coming up with ideas for a great event for the wine lovers in the Cornell community. The result was the first-annual Preppy Wine Tour around Seneca Lake. Held just after the leaves had peaked in the Finger Lakes region, the tour covered some of the best vineyards in upstate New York, including Damiani Wine Cellars, Glenora Wine Cellars and Villa Bellangelo. For good measure, we also included a stop at Finger Lakes Distilling. Below are some of our photos from the trip along with a blurb about each stop. We would like to extend a special thanks to Bridget Olisky of Glenora and Chris Missick of Villa Bellangelo for their exceptional hospitality. Continue reading

A Night of International Delights

Chateau (2)

11/03/2012 @ Chateau des Bros

This semester, the Society of Wine and Jurisprudence had the pleasure of hosting a cultural mixer at our headquarters (commonly known as Chateau des Bros) near downtown Ithaca. The event was the brain child of The Briggs International Law Society’s Andrew Maharajh and the LLM Association’s Benoit Allouis and Omar Khashaba. The evening featured food from Lebanon, Israel, France, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico and Vietnam as well as some excellent wines from France, Spain, Italy and South Africa, and even a beer from Trinidad. It was an immense success and a great opportunity for cross-cultural camaraderie. A special thanks to Andrew, Benoit and Omar for putting it together. Below are a few of the wines and photos from the event.
